The Church of Christ is dedicated to following God's Word and living joyously under His care.  We follow Jesus as our example for living and we strive to bring God glory by following His Son faithfully.

Our aim is to preach the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15) and share the gospel (good news) with every creature under heaven (Mark 16:15).  Since Jesus is the "Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him" (Hebrews 5:9), our focus is always on Jesus, abiding in His Word (John 8:31), and abiding in His love (John 15:9).  We proudly call ourselves "Christians," for we follow Christ to the best of our ability and embrace the hope of one day living with Him eternally (Philippians 1:23).

We believe that Jesus is our only source of authority (Matthew 28:18).  We do not follow or teach the commandments or traditions of men (Matthew 15:3-9).  We believe that Jesus is the Head of the church (Ephesians 1:22), and that God speaks to us today through His Son (Hebrews 1:2).  Therefore, Christ's New Testament is our only source of authority for Christian living.

When you visit our worship service you will find a group of Christians gathered to give thanks, praise, and adoration to God.  Our service consists of prayer, Bible teaching, singing, communion (the Lord's Supper), and the giving of our means.  Our singing is distinct in that we do not use mechanical instruments of music in worship; we sing only with our voices, making melody in our hearts (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16).  We serve the Lord's Supper every Sunday to remember the death of Jesus (Acts 20:7).  We also give our members an opportunity to give in support of the Lord's work in our community.  No monetary contribution is expected from our visitors.

The South Hills family is a small but loving group of Christians.  We have an average attendance of about 80 at our Sunday morning worship service.  Our congregants are men and women of all ages and all backgrounds.  Our diversity is a beautiful picture of what the Lord's church should look like (Galatians 3:28).  It is truly a beautiful and pleasant experience to be part of a family that dwells together in unity (Psalm 133:1).

We hope you will come and worship with us soon!
